The Norbury Theatre is a cherished community gem located in the heart of Droitwich Spa. Established in 1962 by the Droitwich Theatre and Arts Club (DTAC), this volunteer-run theatre has a rich history that began with its first production, a pantomime titled 'Man in the Moon,' in 1963. Originally part of the Norbury House Hotel, which opened in 1934, the building has transformed over the decades into a vibrant venue that hosts a variety of performances, including films, music, dance, and theatrical productions.

What makes the Norbury Theatre truly special is its commitment to inclusivity and community involvement. With a diverse group of volunteers ranging from ages 8 to 80, everyone is welcome to join the Norbury family, whether through performing, set design, or front of house duties. The theatre prides itself on being accessible to all, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent anyone from becoming a member. The friendly volunteers provide a warm welcome to every visitor, creating an inviting atmosphere for all who come through its doors.

The theatre features a main auditorium with 176 seats and a cozy Studio Theatre that accommodates 45, perfect for smaller productions and comedy nights. Each year, the Norbury Theatre showcases a mix of full-length plays, musicals, youth productions, and an annual pantomime, with many visiting groups returning year after year. With an extensive wardrobe and technical theatre services, the venue is well-equipped to host a range of events, making it a cornerstone of the local arts scene.
